Fiji Village News - 05 April 2010 Fiji’s Tourism Minister Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said some shops are buying goods off shore and then selling them to tourists as a local product. Sayed-Khaiyum said they will soon be unveiling a Buy Fiji made campaign, in an effort to boost tourism dollars and made the announcement when he addressed delegates attending the Ba Provincial Council meeting in Suva last week. He said people feel a sense of loyalty and they know it’s authentic when Fiji made products are purchased and said that some shops are buying goods off shore and then selling them to tourists as a local product. Delegates were told that as much as possible, the government wants the tourism dollar to be spent within Fiji. |
